Type of a scam Employment

Progressive Inc. mystery shopper. I was on LinkedIn when I responded to an advertisement for part-time work in my area. Applied via email and received a text acknowledging that I had been accepted. A few days later I received an email stating that I had received my first assignment and that a check for two thousand dollars was in the mail. I was to take the check to my bank, cash it and go buy VanillaOne prepaid Mastercards..four of them for five hundred dollars a piece. Keeping the cards for upcoming assignments. After receiving that email I began investigating the company to see if it was legit or not. BBB has no record, the phone number comes up unknown..seems fishy to me!

I do not plan on cashing the check and I wanted to report the suspicious activity.
