Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

This MAY be a scam. I did not fall for what appears to be a scam to me. Just be aware that this screams SCAM all over it. They may be legitimate but I wasn’t going to find out the hard way. I get a call from a person claiming to be associated with Hilton Grand Resorts and wanting to get me to a time share presentation in one of 5 Mexico destinations or Orlando FL. He directs me to a website called VillaGroupResorts.com, which is a real web site, although not a well done one for sure. They do know that I have attended a Hilton Grand Resorts time share in the past. I am not impressed that they know this, as I am sure those lists are not held securely by those groups. I asked if he was associated with Hilton Grand Resorts or with Villa Group Resorts, and are they linked in any way? The answer was a convoluted, NO. They make the enticing offer of 4 nights and 5 days ALL INCLUSIVE, food, drinks and room. Just $599.00! So far, not to different from any other group trying to get me to a time share. Before I gave him my credit card, I ask him to send me an email from his company to check that he is legit. They send me an email from [email protected] Notice that it is a gmail address and not a provacationsgroup URL? Then in the email he sent me, I notice it was cc’d to a [email protected] (yet another gmail address). In the body of the text it tells me "The confirmation letter will come from Right Signature to your email inbox. The email will appear from Summer Vacation Package ". Then I am supposed to click on a link,

http://www.summervacationpackages.org/#!reservation-request-/c83p to fill out a request for a destination and reservation. So, while I am explaining my concerns that there are 5, yes five company names and or different addresses on this one email from them and that I do not really know what company I am doing business with here, he gets his "supervisor" to help me fee more at ease. I explain my concerns to this gentleman and he tells me to go to the BBB site and confirm that they are legit and that they have a "A" rating. So, I did. And, they do not even exist on the BBB website as "Pro Vacations" in Orlando Florida, like he told me to check. I never did ask him why if they were in Orlando was he calling me from a Arlington Texas phone number. So, I politely told him I had to pass on the offer. He was nice about it, and maybe they are legitimate, but it just seemed shady to me. My question to him was are they 1) Pro Vactions, 2) Pro Vactaions Group, 3) SVP Reservations 4) Villa Group Resorts, 5) Summer Vacation Packages? He told me "Pro Vacations". Which remember from earlier has a "gmail" address and does not have a website. So I do a little research on the BBB website after the call and find out that the company is actually "Summer Vacation Packages" and that they have an "F" rating, with 28 negative comments and 3 unresolved complaints. They did not get any of my money, but I can promise you that I would be writing a very different scam report if I was just the young buck who jumped at the offer that was to good to be true. Be cautious people.
