Total money lost $5,100

Type of a scam Tech Support

I was notified that someone had breeched my network. I thought this was a company I had contracted with 2 years ago, so I let James into my computer. He said my Windows 10, the brain & drivers were no longer running, since I had a problem, I assumed he was correct. Told me to buy $100 ITunes cards to fix the Ipad & $1200 Google Play Cards to buy the software needed. When the Google numbers were put in, 1 number or letter was wrong on 2 of the cards, so the whole batch was rejected. I had to buy another $1200 in Google cards. They went through fine & he started working, but said now I need a new firewall, that would have to be purchased through his company for an extra $100, so bought $1300 worth of cards. Now someone named Steven Marco, phone said Upper Marlboro, MD 240-339-3626 (cell 972-643-8539) said the case had been turned over to him, so I gave him the $1300 in Google Play Cards, & it turns out he was a scammer. James called back & told me that & now I had to buy another $1300. I did & he worked on my computer for several hours but said the problem was so bad that he would send a team to my house to bring the hardware & install it all, that Google would refund me $5500 but I needed to spend another $3000 for the new hardware. I reported this to the police & when James called back I told him no, that I now believe him to also be a scammer. his boss called & said they would try to get permission to send me the check to prove their legit & would call back if he could get that approval. No call was forthcoming. I am out a total of $5100.
