Total money lost $500

Type of a scam Counterfeit Product

Contacted first by a pop up while using my computer, supposedly from McAfee telling me I needed an Advanced MAC Cleaner, which I ordered at what turned out to be an exhoritant price (when I later checked the official McAfee site) and then I found myself in contact with people who called themselves Priumum Technical Services, but in their later emails to me identified themselves as Priumum Techie Support. I foolishly allowed them access to my computer, and also foolishly allowed myself into buying their malware security product. I later learned that a Mac does not need such a product. The registration for this came from Sengsil Inc. I had been promised a refund if I was not satisfied. Now they keep phoning me, but are refusing to refund the amount – some $532.95 CAD.

I now have an email from Paddle Support thanking me for the purchase of the Advanced Mac Support with instructions about how to download the program and activate it and activate it. I am afraid to try.

My VISA card provider, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, when I contacted them, concluded that I had been the victim of a scam, and cancelled me card. Now I have the inconvenience of waiting for a new card.

Because I allowe these people access to my computer and all my files, I am terrified of the possibility of identity theft.

One of the emails from Techie also identified them as Fast Spring.
