Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

We purchased the platinum membership on February 11, 2017.

We got our online access a week after the transaction, which to me presented a big red flag, but I wanted to give the company the benefit of doubt.

We were hoping to travel mid-to-late April to try out the benefits. When we were presented with the program, our first instinct was a "no", bc I work for Sheraton and since it was acquired by Marriott, we can stay anywhere in the world for really cheap. We were then told, that’s fine, keep your employee discount and use it, but buy into our club and you get 4 total VIP resort weeks in the price. We don’t vacation 4 weeks per year, bc we have to work, so they sold us on the 2 week VIP Resort weeks, assuring us the price included 2 full weeks.

I began calling in March, only to be sent immediately to voice mail. I get a return call and am told they can not look up my account to see the details and help me book, so i was given another number. I call there, they give me the same response. I gave it a few days, called again, same song and dance as the prior call. My blood is beginning to boil obviously. So I figure I will give up the April vacation and try for mid- to late- summer.

I began calling on 7.24 (decided to keep records due to lack of trust at this point). I received another runaround, that person told me I had called the wrong dept and she will have the travel concierge call me back. That person told me I was sent to the wrong dept, apologized and told me to call the other number.

I called back on 7.28 and left a voice message that I need to talk to someone asap. I am pretty peeved at this point and need a call from a manager or officer of the company. Elizabeth called me back and I told her why I was super upset and that I feel we were fleeced- she then threatened to hang up on me. So I said that if I feel I was ripped off, I can say so. She hung up on me at that point.

She later called back and gave me a number for Bradley Wright in compliance. I left him a voice message at 2:46 pm Mountain time. Bradley called back that day and I explained all the above and how we were misled to believe that the price we paid included 2 weeks annual vacation. I explained that no one has info on my membership and that if I get 2 weeks to use any time of the year with advance notice, why can no one help me book?

I explained we bought this only bc of the 2 pre-paid weeks, the discounts didn’t matter bc I work for Sheraton and get cheap employee discounts worldwide as it is. We feel like what they’re not telling us, is that we bought into a total scam, bc the info was totally miscommunicated and misrepresented. It’s like buying a toy, but until you buy batteries, it does no good, you can’t play with it. How does that make any sense to any person of sound mind?

Bradley in compliance sounded as though he understood and as if he cared and stated that in compliance they work for me, but I was soon to learn that he was also a salesman, just telling me what I wanted to hear and had no intention on helping me out. He ended the call by saying he would talk to the board later that day, bc they meet every Friday. He said he will call back Monday next week. He didn’t.

On 8.4, I called and spoke to Bradley briefly. I had to explain everything to him again as if my first time communicating with him. He then said he meets with the board today and will call back after he presents this to the board. I told him to do his best to get our money back bc this is not a good fit and we do not want to do business with this company moving forward. Never heard from Bradley after that.

8.14 – I felt as though I had given Bradley ample time to get back to me, so I called him. He sounded surprised to hear from me, said he was eating and will call back shortly. He didn’t call back.

8.21 – I called Bradley, he sounded out of sorts when I called him and he told me that he was running up to his office presently and will call back in ten minutes and once he grabs my file. He didn’t call back.

8.24 – I called Bradley again, he told me he was finishing lunch and he will call back in ten minutes. Of course, no call from Bradley ever came.

8.25 – I am getting beyond annoyed, so I called the main PV number and left a voice message requesting a new compliance officer that I can talk to bc I feel Bradley is blowing me off.

8.25 – I received a return call from someone at PV and she seemed annoyed that I told her I thought Bradley was blowing me off bc of all the non-returned calls. She apologized and connected me to Bradley directly. Bradley apologized and says he will call back tomorrow. Nope, he did not call back the next day.

8.29 – Bradley called today. He said that he had presented to the board and they can do nothing to help me at this point. I said, I just want all our money back. You can’t deliver what you promised and the customer care is non-existent and we want out. He said he knows a company willing to list the membership and will do so for free, he gave me Ed at VSI. He also mentioned the only way we could get out is if we had a major financial hardship.

We feel we were sorely misled to believe that we received 2 VIP Resort weeks (in this paid price) anywhere you have access to properties, as well as 2 Value Getaways, and unlimited discounts and access to cruises, private homes, vacation packages/tours, car/Rv rental, all-inclusive resorts, hotels/getaways, restaurants and attractions.

Again, before we signed up, our reason for not doing so was my employment under the Marriott umbrella that gives access to many properties worldwide for extremely cheap. Why would I buy into a club to get that "privilege" when I have one for free just bc I work for the company? How absurd would that be?

Again, they said, the 2 weeks included at this price would more than pay for itself, and I don’t ever have to use the discounts if I get rooms cheaper through Marriott/Sheraton, but it’s there if I need it.

Since this all began, my son broke his nose (we have no medical insurance) which brought on over $12k in bills bc he required surgery/anesthesia. I just lost my main job of 10 years in early October, and bc we are living solely on my husband’s income and the little that will come in via unemployment insurance, once I begin collecting checks, we are struggling to make ends meet.

When we signed the contract, Mark ran thru everything so fast (sign here, here, here, etc., and goodbye). We left without checking to see if our numbers matched the car giveaway we initially got roped into the presentation for, bc it was a mad rush to send us off once we agreed to the terms we were verbally given more than once.

I reached out to Bradley several times more, to get help. I figure if i am the only person with a problem, they have to be willing to help me get out of this mess.

NO return calls from Bradley, so i sent emails 3 from Dec 3, 2017 to January 19,2018

Bradley finally called December 7th and stated he will do all he can to get me out of this, but the board goes on holiday and won’t return until January 5th and not meet until January 12th since they meet Fridays. He promised to fight for me and get back to me immediately following the meeting on the 12th.He of course didn’t. So i sent an email to support on January 15th, heard nothing, re-sent the email the 19th.

Got a call from a lady there, who didn’t give a name, stating that Bradley called me already to let me know the board is not going to help me out. I informed her that he had not called, he lied to her just as he has perpetually lied to me. She apologized and hung up.

This is the jist of it. LIES, DECEPTION, THIEVERY!
