This person contacted me via text message about my Craigslist ad to sell my car. He used the name Alex and offered to buy the car. He said he would meet me the next day and needed to request the time off work. Then he requested that I buy an auto history report online and forward it to him before he would request the day off work to meet me. The website he wanted the report from is www.premiumautoreport.com. He then pressured me to get the report quickly so he could request the time off work before his shift ended. I don’t usually fall victim to this type of scam but I was at dinner with my wife and had my son log in to the website to the report so I could finish the process and get my car sold.

The charge for the report is $25.00. My son bought the report online with his credit card info and he was emailed a history report for my car.

At that exact moment, "Alex" stopped communicating with me.

There were multiple attempts after that to make fraudulent purchases using our credit card info from restaurants like *** *** and *** ***.

"daniel" contacted our dealership to inquire about a vehicle. He requested a report from this website before he would schedule to come and look at the car.

I have my used truck listed for sale on Craig’s list. "Danny" contacted me via text message and requested information about the vehicle which all seemed appropriate. He then requested that I go to a specific website for a vehicle report – "PremiumAutoReport.com" . I had already checked out the NMVTIS site and ordered a vehicle report from one of their approved providers. "PAR" is NOT one of their approved providers. I told "Danny" I was not going to get this report and he quote "It’s 25. The only reason I suggested this it is cheaper than Carfax. And I’m not low bailing and I WILL PAY THE COST ALSO just add to the vehicle prices please. And I’m fine with your price but just need to know the history of what I will be paying you thousand dollars on. And I think it’s a fair request" Told him no Premium Auto Report is a scam and will not be ordering a report. At that point I politely ended the conversation and blocked his number from my phone.

I have my used car listed for sale on local website. "Alex" contacted me via text message and requested information about the vehicle which all seemed appropriate. He then requested that I go to a specific website for a vehicle report…"PremiumAutoReport.com" . I had never heard of this site so I declined. Alex then got very forceful over text trying to get me to get him the report. At that point I politely ended the conversation and blocked his number from my phone.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I’m selling my car and was contacted by someone. He was very assertive and wanted a PAR report. Premium auto report. Have basic info on when the car was purchased. I don’t actually think the dates were correct even, but it cost $25. I figured I needed to do one anyway and without thinking paid it when I should have stopped right there and went with my gut and blocked the guy. I hate craigslist.
