I received an email for this company that stated they were going to charge me $599 to reinstate my renewal. I called them to cancel and that is when i gave them access to my computer so they can refund me my money. They put $8000 in my checking account. I was told it was an overpayment and I had to refund the money by purchasing gift cards and provided the gift card information over the phone. They locked my computer and said I couldn’t use it until I gave them the entire "refund" via gift cards. They added another $5000 to my checking so I bought more gift cards using my visa credit card. They went ahead and added another $1500 and buy nordstrom gift cards or american express; I used walmart gift cards instead. That is when I just turned off my computer. And went to GeekSquad for help and they will change the password on my computer so I can use it again.

Apparently the scammer used my client to take money from him in return of fixing a bug on his computer. It was a pop up after a virus attack
