Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

I had been applying for loans online. I got a call from The Lending Tree. I talked to a man who had an Indian accent. He said I was approved for up to $10,000. He said it would be a 5 year loan, at $183.00 a month payment. He said he needed to do a good faith deposit to verify my account. Then I would have to send that back to them. I gave him my bank account number. He tried to make a direct deposit, but my bank had issues. Thy were trying to take a picture of the check with their phone. The bank said it was fraud and froze my account.
