This posting was found via Indeed.com and applied via that site. Later, I received an email with instructions on how to apply on their website(http://www.porterdelivery.com). I applied and immediately received a phone call from them for a phone interview. Amily Miller was my main point of contact and I was given a brief overview about the job with instructions on how to sign an employee contract. The employee contract stated I would be receiving about 20 packages a month that needed to be forwarded to their headquarters as the websites the packages were purchased from did not have the capability to ship international and this company was a forwarding service for international shoppers in Belgium. The contract stated I would get paid either via PayPal or direct deposit but the direct deposit format was available for US banks. It stated that as an employee I would receive $3000 a month and there was a term they use called "bonus tasks" which an additional $50 as those side jobs required a pick up service. According to the contract all packages would not be shipped to my address under my name as the packages did not belong to me and my address was only being used.

My first task was given to me as a bonus task where I needed to pick up an order at the Apple store, I was forwarded the all the ordering information and pick up address. When I arrived at the Apple store for my first task, I spoke to customer service for order pick up but the order was canceled. I called my main contact Amily Miller which didn’t pick up and didn’t even have a voicemail. It took me 8 times to get her on the phone only to find out that she didn’t even know the "client" canceled the order. I was given credit for the task.

So for about a few weeks, I’ve started receiving packages at home and the company provided me with prepaid labels for FedEx where I was forwarding all the packages to another individual who helped deliver the packages to headquarters. I found this suspicious but when I received packages. My manager Amily Miller would immediately follow up with the package as the customers had already prepaid the forwarding shipping labels. So I just continue my part of the job.

After about two weeks, overnight my manager suddenly changed to Donald Lentz. Did not speak very good english and wouldn’t tell me what happened to my original manager Amily Miller. The company had sent me on a couple of bonus tasks and reimbursed us for those trips but suddenly they tried to send me to pick up a package that was 27 miles away from my location. I kept telling them my founds were low as I was spending money to even transport the local packages I received. They let it go, I continued to received a few packages. A week before I was assigned to get paid I was told I would be receiving a phone call from the financial department. So I continued to ask my manager for support and help on finding out when exactly I was going to get paid and he kept saying he was going to look into the situation and verified anything for me.

I called him and the main headquarters number and no one picked up. I emailed the office email and i received an email that the email I used to contact them no longer worked. Today which is my pay day, I tried to log in and they terminated my employee portal. Now I worked for them for a total of 4 weeks. Delivered all packages received by them. I received about 20 letters in the mail from Paypal due to suspicious activity. So it seems that they used my address to receive packages and had them forwarded by me to another person to cover their tracks. They don’t use company telephone services and have no voicemails. They delete all forwarding data after all the packages are submited but I saved all of this.

This company found my information through careerbuilder.com and they were offering a job initially as a packaging manager with benefits and $*** a month income. When I inquired further they stated my position would be a forwarding courier with the same pay but no benefits. I would have to receive packages, open them, take photos, and then repackage them. The items were things like iPads and such. They wanted me to go to an Apple store near where I lived to pick up iPads that were under my name. It just seemed odd. I refused to go and questioned their credibility. The individual that I was in contact with begged for me to go and pick up the merchandise. Why would a legitimate company have to do such a thing. They claimed they were accredited with BBB.org but I discovered that this wasn’t true. Beware. After this incident my login/account on the website was changed or deleted by the company.
