Type of a scam Employment

I was contacted by Platinum Post for the 1st time on Friday, March 27th, 2020 through Gmail. At the time, I was in search of a new job and this one really caught my eye because of how much they were offering to pay me and I could work from home as well. It was also due to the fact, all the other jobs I’ve had before were not offering nearly as much. The pay was an average income of $3000 a month plus a bonus of $50 for each shipped package. In the email, they told me to send my information such as:

My First and Last name

Address (including the full street address, city and state)

Mobile Phone Number

Home Phone Number

And to tell them if I was employed or my time availability

After which an employee of their HR department would conduct a phone interview with me. I replied the same day with an email disclosing with said information. After completing the phone interview, on March 30th, I received an email from Madona Marek from Platinum Post’s HR department. She instructed me to follow the next steps of the hiring process. First, was to open the attached file on the email that contained the Employment Agreement Form. “Review the agreement, fill it out, and then sign electronically within 24 hours upon receiving this email.” Second, was to upload a copy of any government issued Id using a scanner/digital camera. This was to be used only for “verification purposes”. Third, was to reply to the email with a confirmation and to allow 3-5 business days to call me back to finalize the job offer. However, Platinum Post hired me as a “Quality Control Inspector” about one day later on March 31st. In the email, I was told I would be contacted by a personal manager and that I would be provided access to my admin panel via email. The next 3 emails I received later in the day were from my personal manager at Platinum Post, Elen Warren. The 1st email contained the link to the admin panel, and a username and password to login. The 2nd email contained a link to the dashboard manual. The 3rd email contained a brief description of my daily duties as a Quality Control Inspector and asking, “Are you ready to receive a package?”

-Log in to dashboard at least 3 times every day, Mon- Fri

-Report the packages as soon as they arrive (latest within the 3 hours from the delivery time)

-Sent out packages on the very same day when outgoing shipping label provided

I replied one day later on April 1st in an email to Elen saying that I was ready to start receiving packages. For a little over a week, I received packages at my address most times containing tech items. I would check for “damages”, then take a photo/scan of the product and its packing list/invoice and upload it to the admin panel. I would place the product back in the box, seal it back up with packing tape, remove all previous shipping labels and place a new outgoing shipping label that I would print from the admin panel on the box. After all that, I just had to go to the Fed-Ex store and re-ship the package out the same day I received it. Last thing was to upload the receipt I received from the Fed-Ex store to the admin panel then I was done. On Saturday, April 11th, I noticed that I neglected to set up my direct deposit with Platinum Post. I sent an email to Elen inquiring about setting up direct deposit to which she replied back, “Hello, You can indicate here (in the email) and we will provide our Financial department.” This was way too sketchy for me to go through with so I withheld my info. Regardless, I kept working for Platinum Post until I stopped receiving packages from them around April 20th. I had sent Elen a couple of emails inquiring why I stopped receiving packages and had not heard anything from her in awhile. I got no response and eventually I just gave up on them entirely. May 4th was supposed to be my payday, obviously I received no payment whatsoever that day from Platinum Post. It’s only after the fact that I looked this "company" up on the Better Business Bureau website and found out how I was being scammed. I hope my story can help other people not be tricked by this company into unnecessarily wasting their time and money.

Saw the posting on a job site and applied. Was then emailed about the position and was offered the job. I purchased need equipment and completed the assignments. When contacted via email about my pay I never got a response, I tried calling but the number was disconnected. I then tried to log on to the employee portal and couldn’t.
