Type of a scam Healthcare/Medicaid/Medicare

Senior received call from number listed, company was selling a back brace. Caller wanted senior to go to Rockford to pick up the back brace but 91 year old senior mentioned that he could not go that far, caller then said they will mail it. Unfortunately, senior was confused and gave out his Social security number and Date of birth. Once the caller asked for his medical insurance, senior said he was with the VA then proceeded to ask if it was a scam. Caller hanged up. Once senior informed me of this, I called the number. Person that answered was Kevin, I asked what the company provides and instead said he was going to connect me with a supervisor. After being on hold, I asked Kevin what the name of their business is called and he stated that he is not allowed to give that info out. Instead, he asked for my name and number.
