Type of a scam Employment

I received a text message regarding an employment opportunity as a "Customer Service Representative" with Pfizer. They reviewed my resume on Indeed. They set up an interview through Google Hangouts and they tell you how well you did on the interview. Then you receive a "Employment Letter" and W-4 form. They will send you a check to purchase the equipment you need to do the job. They offer you $16hr for training and $26.75 after the training. I called Pfizer and they told me it was a scam. When it sounds too good to be true most likely it is. It’s really sad because you get caught up in the moment and forget to do the research to find out if it is legit.

Type of a scam Phishing

Received a phone call about 2 p.m. this afternoon 4-12-2018 from a 440 area code indicating that it was generated from Willoughby, Ohio. The woman introduced herself from Pfizer and her name is Brandy. She said that she would like to offer a deduction on products. Then she asked, "Can you hear me?" I answered, "yes" and she disconnected the call. I could hear a double click which led me to believe that I was being recorded. It left me uneasy.
