I was contacted by a connection via LinkedIn to apply for a "Mystery Shopper" position with Personnel Profiles Inc and to contact Alicia Voeks at [email protected] I reached out to "Alicia" a month ago for the position and never heard back. I was given her office address in the LinkedIn message but could not locate a phone number. Today, I received a Priority Mail package with a Cashiers Check for $2920 and instructions to deposit the check, purchase $2500 in gift cards, and then send the gift card info to the email address listed above. I was told to "text" 2168390634 to confirm I received the package. I attempted to call that phone number to find it is a text only line. I followed up with the issuing credit union, Navy Federal. I spoke with a man there who was shocked at what I had told him. He spoke with his manager and confirmed that the cashiers check is in fact fraud.
