I received a Linkedin message in my email from what I thought was a contact of mine, suggesting she was referring me to a mystery shopping experience and if I was interested in applying to make some extra income. I applied, entered my name, email, address and phone number. A few days later I received an email suggesting I was going to receive a package with my first assignment, which included a UPS tracking number. I received the package and it includes a $1,960 cashiers check to use to purchase gift cards, using that money, and the extra is payment for my completion of the assignment. I was asked to scratch off the back of the cards and take clear photos of the front and back to send as part of my report.

I started searching for the company name, as well as name on the cashiers check, the return label and nothing has came up on my search. I already received an email asking to confirm receipt of the package.
