Type of a scam Phishing

Repeated calls for a "T— Jordan" who doesn’t live at our address, nor do we know anyone by that name. The callers leave a message that legal action is being taken against him and that he should contact them. First call said they were calling to let him know they would be showing up at his home or place of employment to file papers (don’t think the process works this way). Then the caller wanted "Mr. Jordan" to call their number and provide his social security number (uh huh). Follow up call was left on machine to–again–"Mr. Jordan" from "Jessica" who emphatically ordered him to contact the number to respond to "multiple complaints" against him. I thought it was especially interesting that "Jessica" stumbled when she was leaving the date of the call—like she was looking down at her script. I don’t know if these people were actually trying to scam "Mr. Jordan" or using that name to get us on the phone with them so they can carry out the scam. I’m blocking the number.
