pop up on computer directing you call a number to fix issue of identify theft
They get consumer to send a check to the "business" address… just a mailbox, not a legitimate business. They remote install files on your computer purportedly to keep your information safe and redress the "identity theft." It is likely some type of spyware. Once they get money they keep asking for more of it…sent to different addresses. They don’t have a website or email that we can find. When we call them back they are evasive, not wanting to give out any info without getting your customer Id # that they provide you as part of the scam. They won’t let you talk to Steve Johnson, the supposed "tech support" person.
