Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

When parking at a private lot, the pay station Kiosk was used to pay for a full day of parking. The option was one hour of parking for $12, or a full day of parking $17. I opted for the full day, and displayed the ticket on the dash as instructed. I returned to my car to find a "ticket" charging me for overstaying the 2hr time limit, a $75 charge. This was not a ticket issued by the City of Denver, or any reputable source, it is generated by the lot owner. They claim there is a dispute process, but the process is to say there was a time limit on the lot despite the kiosk receipt stating otherwise, and the owner of the car is being taken to collections for the fee within thirty days of the "ticket". This is a scam – to mislead those who park at the lot, to take them for $75 in fees that are not associated with any legal parking ticket.
