Type of a scam Phishing

Oportun sent by Fedex an unsolicited check dated 5/13/2020 for $1,500 which was not cashed and is now past 90days and void. They are sending past due notices and threatening to mar my credit rating. They call me on my landline and when I say I do not have a loan with them they ask for my date of birth to look into it (scamming). They suggest texting them, but then they will have my cell number. I feel like they will use anything they can against me. I cannot call them as they are unethical.
