Type of a scam Online Purchase

Found an advertisement for Nissan Pathfinder on Honolulu Craiglist. Seller contacted via text after providing phone number and this is the response: My car is in a military garage in Bel Air, MD and in case it gets sold I will take care of shipping process. Since the car is in a military base, only the Logistic Department can deliver it, because the car is sealed and ready for delivery, in their custody. The car is here with me at the base and the delivery process will be managed by me. The shipping will take 2 days. It will come with a clear title and reg. I am a member of the eBay buyer protection program and using this service you will get a 7 days testing period after delivery. During that 7 days testing period I will not be getting any money.

SO…ONLY AFTER you receive the car and agree to keep it, eBay Protection Program will release the payment to me, in this way we are both protected.

So, this is not a blind transaction, you can physically see the car before committing to buy and to eliminate any concerns.I need to know if you are still interested, so I can ask eBay to send you the details on this deal.

If you are interested, please include in the next email your contact information for eBay (full name, shipping address and phone number), so we can start the procedure.

to *** I prefer the car to be here in Hawaii gif inspection. The buyer protection plan does not provide the relief I seek since I live in Hawaii. The military may pay but added charges after us common. Have your commander confirm this transaction.

My commander has nothing to do with this because it is my private deal. The buyer’s protection applies to all the states and there are no charges added to the shipping. The shipping is included in the price.

Regardless of buying a car via the internet is not guaranteed. If you have in Hawaii than I can inspect myself, that is my preference, your military id card validated your identity and you are stationed where?

U will send the money to eBay not to me.They will hold the payment until you receive the car inspect it and decided if you want to keep it or not.If you decide to keep it you’ll have to confirm them that you like the car and want to keep it.Only then they will release the funds to me.You have 7 days for inspection.If the car is not in same condition as I said you will ship it back on my expense and eBay will send you a full refund.

I am not allowed to send you that piece of information. I sent you a picture of my driving license. I showed you who I am, it should me enough. Instead I didn’t ask you any identification. Maybe you are a scammer.

to *** My daughter in the Airforce and people pose as the military to sell the car. Not interested in this type of activity since it is not in Hawaii. EBay operates differently regardless of the buyer protection plan.
