Type of a scam Rental

Two rental scams and there are more for Craigslist Grand Rapids, MI. An email is sent stating that they are out of town and have properties here. Descriptions and photos are sent with address. A phone no. is provided for a text response. I presume then if money is sent you’re out of luck. No keys will be forwarded! Rents are always lower than what you’d expect (which is bad because it preys on more desperate people). There is also a questionnaire asked for income, employment, how many occupants, etc. One scammer asked me to send my email to them which was suspect because all they have to do with Craigslist is press the ‘return to sender’ key. The two letters were remarkably similar. With the 2nd house, a neighbor informed me that the rental property was $1500 instead of $550 and the owners name was Mike instead of James Matthews. That’s when I caught on to these scams.
