Type of a scam Tech Support

This “company” successfully scammed me approximately 2 years ago. I sent them 75.00 x 2 to unlock my computer. It then dawned on me this was a scam. For the past year I have been texted and phone messaged that they are closing down and the ScamPulse.com has been involved. This is the text I got today. ( Dear ….. This is to inform you that the company you been dealing with “Omni Tech” regarding your computer is about to shut down. As per the directions given by ScamPulse.com we need to process the refund for the services as we won’t we able to cater you anymore. The amount we need to initiate for you is $500.00. Kindly call us as soon as possible to get the refund processed on 315-994-1228.) Poor sentence structure etc. I did take their call several months back and told them just to refund to my credit card that I used. They said they needed all fresh information. Told them not to contact me again but I still get hounded. Thank you

Type of a scam Phishing

I received an e-mail with the real OmniTech logo and the BBB logo stating that they were going out of business, As I had done business with the real OmniTech in the past ,it seemed legitimate at first. They stated that they were going out of business so they were issuing refunds for any unused portion of their online computer repair subscription service. They contacted us by phone and stated that they needed to process our refund directly into our bank account. I advised them that it was purchased by credit card so they needed to refund it back directly to the credit card. The caller (John Wilson) insisted that they on;y way they could refund our money was to give them remote access to our computer and the open our bank account online, I advised them that this was not going to happen. The caller then told us that his team would be calling us back as it would take (2) two to (3) hours for them to process a refund that way if we insisted that it go back to the credit card. After he hung up I contacted the real OmniTech from the contact number on their legitimate website and they informed me that they believed that somone is running a scam and to contact the real BBB to report it.
