Type of a scam Tech Support

Computer message to call Microsoft at a given number because our computer had been hacked. We were unassuming and did this. This company charged $206 to our credit card to fix the problem….the problem was NOT fixed and we carried it to a repair shop and was told that it would cost more than the computer was worth to fix it, and recommended that we buy a new computer….the invoices we were sent said for the purchase of iTunes gift cards. This a scam as the only thing we received from these people is a headache.
