I was contacted by email by a Doug Harris, of Oakland Resort Sales of Troy, MI, with an attached sales offer at triple the price I had been asking on another listing site. They required I pay for certain transfer taxes, etc. amounting to around $167, prior to the sale finalizing. It sounded too good to be true, so I looked on this ScamPulse.com website and found that someone had reported them and the description was identical to what had been sent to me. So I just ignored the emails.

I received an email from Doug Harris representing Oakland Resort Sales. He stated that he had a several buyers interested in purchasing my timeshare. He then sent me a signed copy of the purchase agreement, and the offer was well over our asking price. We were to sign the agreement and pay the title search, city and county transfer taxes. This was to total $167.00. The buyer was to pay all other closing cost. This sounded too good to be true so I got on the computer and did my research. I discovered the address on the letterhead was actually a clothing store in Troy, MI and not Oakland Resort Sales. I called the store to verify that they were in fact not sharing a location with this company. Beware of anything that sounds too good to be true.
