Type of a scam Debt Collections

An "arbritage" company was trying to collect a debt from 3 years ago. They treatened to take me to court and garnish my salary if I didn’t pay the debt. They offered to close the case if I paid on the spot. They also offered a reduction of 50% off from the original debt. They were calling my family members so I paid the amount they requested to close the case ($330.00). The name given by the company doesn’t match the name on the bank transaction. The transaction appears as a purchase at a store in Hong Kong.
