Type of a scam Utility

Around 5 pm this afternoon (Dec. 5, 2018) I was solicited at my home by a woman stating she was with DTE Energy (my carrier for gas). This individual was carrying a clipboard and was dressed in street clothes without any company identification (on her person, or vehicle). She quickly requested that I give her the amount that I was paying for the natural gas coming into my condominium and told me to get my statement for her to review. Mind you, it’s freezing outside, dark and dinner time. I informed her that DTE would surely contact me if there was an issue with my statement. She then shared that she worked for "Nordic" who is part of DTE. I informed her, that soliciting at this condominium complex was not permitted. I observed her then, to stop my elderly neighbor who was getting into her car parked in front of her residence. My neighbor did not engage in conversation with her. A short time later, another "solicitor" for DTE/Nordic was observed in the parking lot and was asked to leave the property. I immediately contacted DTE to inform them of this scam. They stated they were fully aware that Nordic was marketing/soliciting themselves as employees of DTE.
