Type of a scam Phishing

I received a phone call from an Asian woman (don’t remember name) asking if I had received my new Medicare card.

I said I had not. She ask me for my number on my card. I said I wouldn’t give it to her over the phone. She said she already had it so I told her I would give mine if she gave me what she had. She said she "couldn’t over the phone,"( I should have hung up then!") just proceeded on with other information on me. I was thinking that she was wanting to match my info with what she had. So I answered some of her questions.

She was very convincing and polite throughout. This was not a short conversation.

She ask me health questions and after she was finished she ask again for my number.

Reluctantly I gave it to her! Then she said they would be sending me a Back brace!

I told her I did not want one and hung up!

I got the impression that these callers are being coached to think they are selling a legitimate thing.
