Type of a scam Phishing

The call was strange from the very start. I’m thinking he got my information from facebook. He was inquiring about my son and possible college testing and ACT test preparation. He would not tell me his name or the company he worked for. He boldly asked if I was the mother and I replied "YES" aand thats when he quickly hung up the phone. I called the number back (507) 227-8113 Caller id showed the name Melinda Johnson) and it said it had been disconnected. It quickly reminded me of the phone scams where the caller is trying to get a yes response to record and then use for unauthorized charges via credit card or other ways.
