Type of a scam Tech Support

Spectrum email password wasn,t working. Called spectrum, the man sounded like he was from India, Hector. Probably fake name. He said I had malicious activity on my laptop and I needed to call Network Solutions for help. I believe he must get commission from them. They said it would be $199.99 for their service. They worked on it for hours and hour 12/20/19 and called me about 20 times. This morning Spectrum called to say the problem was solved and Network Solutions called and said it wasn’t solved. Then I realized something was wrong. I called Spectrum and got a lady {US) she helped me withmy password in about 5 minutes. I think Spectrum has people from their India office who are doing scams with Network Solutions. I called Network Solutions demanding my money be refunded and so far they haven’t charged my account. I will void my credit card this week and replace. I told the Spectrum lady about it, but she didn’t seem to care.
