Type of a scam Phishing

Someone named "Sam" from this group called my cell phone unsolicited and left a voicemail stating that my "student loan servicer fell out of compliance by not telling [them] about the forgiveness program. so for compliance and eligibility can [I]give [them] a call back please at 949-408-0006 so [they] can tell me what the Department of Education is offering for [my] loans."

I don’t have any student loans. I called them to follow up because this scam that has been tried on me multiple times and I’m sick of it. I wanted to get more info in order to make a full complaint to anyone that would listen. Although they called me on my cell, I called them back from my work phone, which just shows up as the name of the company on caller ID.

When I called the first time (from my work phone), I spoke to a woman and asked why they called. She said the number I was calling from is attached to an account that has outstanding student loans. When I let them know that I actually don’t have any student loans and am on the Do Not Call List, she said she would put my name on a list to not call anymore. When I pushed further and said I was calling from a work number and how would a Student Loan organization know who was calling based on my work number showing up, she hung up. I called again (still from my work phone), spoke with a man. I said I was calling to get more information about their business because some of these types of calls are scams, then he hung up on me. I called a third time (still from work), spoke with a different woman. I asked for their mailing address and they said they "never" give that out. I attempted to clarify that wasn’t asking for their personal address, just the business’s address, but they stated they could not provide this. I asked to speak to manager, she said they don’t have one. Asked her if this business was a scam and she said, "how could it be? we only take down three pieces of information, starting with your FISA number, and then direct you a loan officer." She explained the loan officer(s) they refer to are separate from their company. I asked what other pieces of info they ask for, then she hung up on me.

Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief

Someone called from this number stating that I qualified for federal student loan programs that would help me relieve my debt. The woman on the phone asked me how much roughly I had in federal student loans (whether it was $10,000+). When i asked who she was with, She got frustrated, said National Student Help Center (I think), then hung up on me. I called back and got an automated response stating something to the effect of, "the survey that you are calling about is now finished. Press 9 to unsubscribe." And then the call ended.
