Type of a scam Government Grant

I received a call on my cell phone from a private number. I was informed that I had been selected to receive a grant from the federal government in the amount of $14,566.00. I was told that I was selected on the basis of paying my taxes on time, not having a criminal record, and being a good citizen. I was given a grant number, GT303, and told to call my grant manager at 323 4860743. I called that number and spoke to a different person. He asked if he could call me back, and he did from from 305 2298324. I asked what organization he represented and he said the National Institute of Health. He asked my name, my address, my age and birth date, then asked if I had dependents. I told him 2, but then he wanted to know their ages. I said I was uncomfortable giving that information, and his response was, "If you’re uncomfortable with that, we are unable to give you the money," and then hung up.
