I was sent a text message from George asking if my car was still for sell, I said yes. He asked if there were any accidents and I said no. He asked if I would do a car history called National Auto Report and sent me a link in the text. I asked my husband what NAR was and he looked it up. There wasn’t any NAR. I saw scam. I ask where he found my ad for the used car and how much the asking price was and he could not tell me. I told him his NAR was a scam and he denied it.

Type of a scam Phishing

I was contacted by "George" from National Auto History via text. He found my information from Craigslist as I am selling a $33,000 vehicle on such. "George" asked me (without seeing the vehicle) to obtain the report because he was coming to purchase the vehicle (sight unseen) the next day and that was not asking much considering the investment.  Due to his haste and commentary, I called his number 480-422-5042 which is listed as a landline, yet has an automated message for a cellular service stating no one is available at that number.

I then called the office in Delaware at 10:08 PM (Mountain Standard Time) and a man answered (1:00 am in Delaware).  When I advised of the scam, he said only seven individuals work there and no one would do such a thing. He then commented on the absurdity of obtaining such information from Arizona, although I did not advise to my location.

As it states on my Craigslist ad, "do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers", I am enraged at the attempt to con me out of money and wasting my time.
