Type of a scam Government Grant

I received a message from one I thought to be a friend who told me he just received a winning grant and that my name was on the list also. He gave me a number to call and sure enough my na.e was on the list. He asked for my name, address. Tel oh # mothers name, my DOB.and monthly income. When provided he told me that my grant was for $100,000. He then ga e me some numbers to save and told me there was a $1500 filing fee before they could send my money. That is when I k re it was a scam.
