Type of a scam Family/Friend Emergency

A Mr. Perkins called my parents yesterday saying my son was in jail due to a car accident in which he hit the vehicle that a pregnant woman was driving. They were to do a Walmart to Walmart wire transfer of $2400 by 5pm in order to bail my son out of jail. They were to call 201-579-0902 when the transfer was completed. They put a young man on the phone who was supposed to be my son who asked my mother to please help him out and not tell me or my husband. My mother was about the leave the house to go to Walmart when my father came home and called me instead. Luckily they didn’t transfer the money. Mr. Perkins called my parents back and they told him they knew it was a scam and to never call back.
