Type of a scam Online Purchase

An individual responded to my craigslist ad(motorcycle sale), and starts corresponding like a normal potential buyer. After a few emails, they ask you to provide a VIN Report. I obtained a thorough VIN Report and sent it to them, but they come back asking to purchase one through motovinusa.com. I did some research and have discovered this is a new scam from this and another VIN Reporting website where they waste your time and try to get you to purchase their product and if you do, they will use your credit card information illegally.

The following is the last message I received from this individual:

Thank you for sending me that report, but I really don’t believe them because I’ve had a bad experience (a friend of mine had accident with his bike and that one didn’t show accident at all). They’re showing only what seller wants to see. I’d be tankfull if you could generate report and that you generate it from motovinusa.com. They’re a lot cheaper than a carfax and more precise as well. I don’t want to obtain it because if it’s bad then I’ll just lose money but you could always show it to another interested buyer. If everything is okay with the report I’d like to arrange our meeting.

I hope you’ll reconsider this and get it, Jorge
