A woman called claiming she would freeze my bank account if I did not pay back a debt from *** card services in 2001. That year, I had some issues after leaving the military and ended up in the hospitalized so details are a bit fuzzy for me. I thought she might freeze my account right before Christmas, and I have four kids, and share the account with my wife. She said that I owed about $1500 and that I could settle it for about $814. I was scared, and am a disabled Veteran, so sometimes I get a bit confused on the phone, and I gave her my information. When my wife came home later, I told her and she told me to report it. I was very hesitant, because I wasn’t sure what to do. She pushed me to block the card. I can’t dispute the transaction because it hasn’t processed through my account yet, but I can see it pending. I hope no one else gets taken for a ride like I did. We looked up the business, it doesn’t have an address or the same contact number on the site. I also saw many people complain of similar issues with the same number, and with caller reporting they were trying to deliver a package. Scary!
