Type of a scam Employment

I had recently updated employment profiles via LinkedIn and Portfolium and was receiving several job opportunities through my emails. When I saw an opportunity presented by Monster I thought nothing of it. They advertised a part time opportunity advertising for them through decals on your vehicle. You had to fill out an application with name, address, phone, type of vehicle, DL information, in order to qualify for their marketing. After the first application you are presented with an acceptance document and information via email about the upcoming employment. About 3 wks later I received an email to select the type of decal I wanted, how long I would participate 1-3mnths, and how much time spent driving. I was to email back my responses and wait. A few days later I received a text notification from the "Monster marketing representative" to expect a FedEx envelope with my first payment and instructions to get the decals.

I received a large check with no other documentation at all. When I expressed my hesitation/confusion I was assured that the extra $ was for the person coming to my house! to put on the decals. I went along with the request and deposited the check. Once that happened I received about 2 text a day (no more emails) checking on the status of the payment. I was instructed to take out the money in cash and go to 1 of 2 different banks to deposit the cash into 1 of 2 different accounts, with 2 different names. I was hesitant to do any of the sort. I contacted my bank and they patched me to the security department who then informed me that the check I had deposited was not good. Meanwhile I am receiving texts to deposit the money, we are waiting, the board of directors is not pleased, it has been taking too long. When the scammers finally figured out that I was just stalling to make sure that the check was out of my bank and that I was not going to send them any money, I have not received any more text, calls, or emails. I am worried because they have my address, phone #, make and model of my vehicle, DL #, and my name. All from just the first "application" that was the original screening for the scam. I didn’t think anything of it, because I was looking for a job opportunity.
