Type of a scam Government Grant

I got an IM from my Facebook friend. My friend said "Have you heard the good news?" My friend told me she got a grant from the Monetary Grant from the Government. My friend submitted my name. She told me to call 908-768-2753. I called. She asked if I owned or rent. I said rent. So today I got a text message saying I was approved for $50,000. I just need a $1000 processing fee. I said if it’s a grant it’s a grant and I shouldn’t have to pay a fee. But my friend said she paid a fee and within 4 hours she received a package, and it was a check.
