Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I got a message from LinkedIn from a former college classmate about a mystery shopping job, paying $300 per job. Sounded great. They sent me $2900 to buy gift cards from an apple store and to get a $25 cashiers check. I was instructed to email a picture of the cashiers check which i did (stupid, I’m sure that money is gone) but I figured out whats going on before I bought anything. So for now I have an extra $2900 sitting in my account until in a couple weeks the bank tells me they were fake. Almost got me. I’m probably out the $32 ($25 cashier check + $7 to get the check), but at least its not as bad as it could have been.
