Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I replied to an online offer of "secret shopper" employment. I then received an email notifying me of my selection as a "shopper", and shortly after that a letter in the mail along with a check from CoVantage Credit Union in the amount of $2350.00. The instructions in the letter were to "shop" a local Walmart store after depositing the check in my personal account. The letter was on fake letterhead, and had some small

grammatical errors. I checked the phone number for Mintel and called them to see if they were the ones that sent me the letter and check.

They told me that it was a scam after I told them the sender was a Brian Anthony. Please forward this to the authorities, to stop this crook.
