I received a message on my MacBook saying that my computer was being hacked and that an "Apple approved" technical support team was available for immediate assistance by calling their 800 number provided 1-877-821-4559. I spoke with the technician with a thick accent who said he required remote access to my laptop to complete his work. This was the message he left for my records, "Hi

I have completed my work kindly check your computer and give us a call on 1877-821-4559 and let us know

its working fine or not " I paid $210 for the services and a one year warranty I also have a bill that was forwarded to me after the phone call that let me know that it was a scam. There was no company address, the technician’s name who assisted me was nowhere to be found. All red flags. Additionally, the bill read that the company has no association with Apple but they have a "digital signature" of mine that I did not provide. I will definitely be more careful from now on. Please be aware.
