Type of a scam Online Purchase

Was contacted on Craig’s list for purchase of a dresser. Said he was going to send a certified check. I settled on a price of $100. He/she sent a regular check (from a business) for $945. Wanted us to contact the mover they designated and pay for the shipping out of the money sent. In addition was giving us $45 for the trouble.

After receiving the check, he repeatedly contacted us to please send the dresser and we kept saying we were waiting for check to clear.

We found the business online: Miller Concrete Construction Inc.

My bank warned me it was a scam.

The ABA on the check is invalid.

They spelled construction wrong

They spelled my last name wrong.

In calling the real company, we verified it was a scam.

If you search online, the bank account number pulls up a lot of sites. 071903929. ABA is 000014834
