Type of a scam Tech Support

The caller tried to convince me that they were from Microsoft Support and that my computer was hacked. They wanted me to run the NETSTAT command from the Command Prompt to show me that the computer was infected. I told them that I was to busy to turn on my computer and to call back tomorrow. They called back two days later spoofing the Microsoft store phone number (877-696-7786) and asked for me. I hung up.

I used to work in computer support and I have a friend that was scammed using this approach last year. He didn’t lose any money but the scammers changed the password on his computer and I had to rebuild it.
