Type of a scam Tech Support

While on Internet Explorer a popup box came up that couldn’t be closed and had a loud constant beeping sound. The message said that the computer was infected with a virus and to call Microsoft support. When calling this number the operator asked what we were doing on the computer and what screen we were looking at. The agent claimed to be Microsoft Support. He then asked us to type in ‘Windows R’ and type in iexplore/fastsupport.com. This gave the agent control of our computer at which time he started to run a scan. We then cancelled the scan and hung up on the agent. When we called the number back and asked for a physical address of where the Microsoft office was located he refused to tell me and told me not to call back again. We are running a security scan of our computer and hope nothing has been infected and no personally identifiable information has been accessed.
