Type of a scam Rental

Ad on Craigslist was too good to be true for a 4 bedroom house in Boise Idaho. Scammer pretended to be the owner and even though there were obvious red flags in hindsight, my partner and I were too excited and in a rush to act on our instincts. The scammer almost got $2,000 dollars from us, but luckily because he “lived out of town”, and my payment was through a bank wire that I was able to easily cancel, the money never got to him. While we didn’t lose two grand to this awful person, we did lose potential personal information, gas money was wasted and so was our time.
