Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

Received a check in the mail for $4,990.00 saying I won the American Mega Million Lottery Sweepstakes. I was supposed to call 416-670-5127 and ask for John Hopkins and give him a code. The from name on the check is MG Insurance Company and in the middle it says Northern Trust Company. I did not call the number.
