Type of a scam Tech Support

I received text messages welcoming me as a Metro PCS customer and that they needed my account number and PIN for my current carrier to port the number. I’m a TMobile customer and did not authorize the transfer. I called T-Mobile and let them know and they told me as long as the people don’t get my PIN to port the number, it would not port. Shortly after that, someone called me from the "TMobile Helpdesk" and mispronounced my name and disclosed my date of birth asked for my TMobile PIN. I believe these were the scammers so I declined, hung up, and again called TMOBILE. They said they could see the pending port request and they put information on their end to ensure it wouldn’t be ported. I attempted to cancel the work order on the Metro PCS side but was unable to do so because I don’t know the name of the person or entity that signed up for the account. I’m still receiving text messages about my Metro PCS service.
