Type of a scam Tech Support

I was on my computer fixing my google email account when all the sudden a screen pops up and said I had a virus, my hard drive was compromised and I should call tech support at 1-800-875-6182. They proceeded to tell me everything that was wrong with my computer and they could fix it by installing anti spyware for a lifetime fee of $200.00. I proceeded to explain that I did not have that kind of money. They suggested that if I didn’t have $200 to protect my computer I should just throw it away. I ask for name, phone number and business address they refused to give me any of that information. I have given you the phone number. After I hung up the phone call I installed Male ware protection for free. Uninstalled everything they installed remotely and now my computer works fine. It was very unsettling. Another person may have paid the $200 believing that their computer was beyond repair.
