Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

On the evening of July 5th, a gentleman who called himself Michael Lewis called me to ask if I had recently received a certified cheque by registered letter. When I told him "no", he seemed to get a bit distraught over it and assured me that I should have. I immediately felt this was a scam, but since I was bored, I thought it might be amusing to see what he had to say. According to him, by using my VISA and my debit card I was automatically entered into the Megamillions lottery and had won 6.5 million in US dollars. He gave me a package number (4949), a telephone number where he could be reached (1-876-581-1686). He then dropped the bomb: a Government Registration Fee of $3275.00 needed to be paid in order for me to receive my winnings. According to him, the amount was required so that there would be no charges of money laundering on his end. I told him to send the cheque and I would send him the money after the cheque had cleared. Of course, he refused, so then I suggested that he pay the money and I would send him the money along with an extra $10,000.00 for his trouble after the cheque cleared. Again, he refused. Since that night I have received at least 5 phone calls from this individual which I have not answered.
