Type of a scam Employment

I was sent an email about a job with Medline Inc. which was a work at home position. Training was provided at $27/hr then pay would be $35/hr. Person wanted interview done through Google Hangouts. Person then wanted to send me an email check to purchase equipment from a supplier. The check was emailed then they wanted me to send them back my banking information showing check was deposited. The check came from a gmail address. It was not issued by Medline instead it was issued from Matrix Coating Solutions and sent from another gmail. When I demanded a direct contact with Medline, I was instructed they would contact me but the person I was communicating with so they could not get me the information right away. I ceased contact.
