Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

They texted me from a number responding to a job application I did from LinkedIn (Edward Rowse Architects, Inc., Office Manager). They then told me to email [email protected] (Judy Carlisle) from their supposed HR Department. She then said "Due to the Pandemic, interview will be held online. Kindly download google hangout and message Mrs. Stadler (Madalynn Stadler) at [email protected] to begin the Interview Briefing." We then did an interview through chat that lasted about 20mins and she said I had got the job after hearing from her superiors. I was sent Employment & Obligation Paper-Works by [email protected] (Lauren Graham(McNab)) and was sent a check of 5k for purchasing materials to get started. I then told Mrs. Stadler after doing research I did not feel comfortable doing so and if the company can purchase the material and send it to me. She said why and said I need to purchase in order to start. Please beware.
